★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I’ve been to Chateau 49 many times now, and it never disappoints. The consistency in both the food and drinks is amazing—it always feels like a home away from home. The atmosphere is so cozy and warm, with a nice, respectful vibe that makes you want to stay longer.Their cheese selection is fantastic—definitely worth the price! If you’re a wine lover, you’ll love their wine options too. It’s just an all-around great spot for a relaxed and enjoyable evening. Highly recommend!
January 11 · A AlijaI walked in, the bartender said sit where you like, place was pretty empty - 6:30 on a Thursday, 9/24. I wanted to watch the tennis so I sat at a table for two that was pushed together for four, right next to a table for two. So I slide one of my tables over 2 feet so I was at a table for two and the table for 4 was empty again. The waiter came right over, moved it back and said "You can't do that."I stood up to be out of his way, I said "I don't understand it's the same thing. I just want to see the tennis better on the TV." He said no, you can't do that. (?) They are all tables for 2 - all 3 of them ? He didn't say I'm sorry, he was very harsh, like I was a criminal for trying to sit there. I decided to walk out, he didn't say anything, like - sorry how is this seat? I think he wanted me to leave.I see a lot of reviews citing poor service. The food is cheap for a French Rest. - maybe they can't get repeat business with poor service? Went to The Smith one block north on 2nd - excellent service, food at atmosphere. Go there !!
September 04 · jeffFood was amazing, location is very sweet, the owner and servers are very attentive. We went here for a coworker/friend dinner. But I think it would also be a great place for a date.
June 27 · Alara DincChateau 49 is a corner property with indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating has both covered and uncovered options. The location is perfect for people watching. The interior is small with. bar area in the front of the restaurant. On the day I visited there was a single server and bartender. However the server was great! The food was fresh and beautifully prepared. I had salmon and the chef accommodated order modifications to account for allergies. The wine was very reasonably priced and they even had happy hour specials on the weekend! The bar area can be a bit boisterous but the meal exceeded my expectations. This is a neighborhood gem!
May 31 · Nu SWe really wanted to enjoy a nice evening with wine and good food on a weekday and ended up in Chateau. They have happy hour drinks till 7pm for $9 a glass which is a good value. The only disappointing part of this evening was the service. We wanted to order the 2nd round of drinks before the happy hour cut, and the server denied them for friends with half full glasses. Then we all ordered main plates, and while still working on our food the waiter brought us the check. We didn't give it too much thought, as we weren't done and wanted to also enjoy desserts. So we ordered their flan and dessert wines and were trying to enjoy the evening. That's when the waiter told us to hurry up because they needed the table for someone else.It was exactly 1 hour from the time we sat at the table until we were asked to empty the table. Not the best feeling for your $60+ pp cost. I wouldn't come back here just because of the service. If they were upfront that we get only 1hr at the table, that would have been more fair.
