If you are local to New York or visiting the area, Coney's Cones is worth choosing for two main reasons: its superior product quality and its quintessential Coney Island experience. The desserts here are a cut above the standard fare; the gelato’s “very silky” texture and the custard’s “nice taste of condensed milk that wasn’t too heavy” showcase the shop’s dedication to authentic, rich ingredients and traditional craftsmanship.
For first-timers, the "Coney Island Custard" flavor is a must-try, paying homage to the dessert that originated right there on the Boardwalk in 1919. Another fan favorite, the "Cookie Monster," provides a fun, nostalgic taste with its unique cotton candy flavor complemented by rich, chocolatey cookies. While some patrons note that the portions are generous, sometimes leading to a "race against time" to eat before the summer heat causes melting, this is a minor logistical challenge for a dessert that is simply too delicious to savor slowly. The flavor, quality, and texture are consistently praised, offering a high-value indulgence. When you choose Coney's Cones, you are not just buying an ice cream; you are embracing a refreshing piece of Brooklyn's seaside culinary culture.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I got the regular size cup with Coney Island custard and Cookie Monster. The custard was amazing, it had a nice taste of condensed milk that wasn’t too heavy. The gelato was also very silky. Cookie Monster was delicious too, it had a cotton candy taste and the cookies inside made for a good sort of chocolatey taste too go along with it. The only problem I really have is that the cups are too small for the portions given. The second we went outside the icecream started melting very very rapidly. It felt like a race against time to shovel each scoop into our mouth because it was dripping outside the cup onto the ground, our clothes, and making our hands sticky. I feel like the portion size was perfect, any less icecream and it was wouldn’t feel worth the eight dollars, it’s just the cup sizes.
July 27 · Diyanat ChoudhuryThis is a very good location for those sunny days on the boardwalk. We stopped in to give it a try and weren’t disappointed, we got pistachio and Nutella crunch and were very pleased. Next time I come I’m going to try the Milano cookie vanilla since they were out that day.
April 22 · Krammer AvillanNeat place. A bit pricey. You don’t really have time to see what flavors are available before you have to place your order, which felt rushed. My son got a vanilla shake and it was pretty bland. I would have preferred Dairy Queen.
June 12 · Tony AnczerConey’s Cones - Absolutely Divine Gelato - A Boardwalk Must-Visit!CONEY'S CONES is an absolute gem on the boardwalk, and I can't recommend it highly enough! From the moment you walk up, you're greeted with a vibrant display of what truly is fresh and delicious gelato. The sheer variety of flavors is impressive, offering something for every palate, and each one I tried was bursting with authentic taste. What really sets CONEY'S CONES apart, beyond the incredible quality, is the service. The staff genuinely know how to serve gelato – a skill that's surprisingly rare! They create beautiful cones and, crucially, they give you a truly great portion for your money. It's clear they take pride in their product and customer experience.Honestly, this gelato stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the best we've had in European countries. If you're on the boardwalk and craving an unforgettable frozen treat, do yourself a favor and stop by CONEY'S CONES. You won't be disappointed!
