★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This was such an amazing experience. The staff were super attentive and took the time to explain every dish, the food was honestly NEXT LEVEL, everything was spot on.It’s not just dinner, it’s more like an experience. Definitely one of the best meals I’ve had in New York and I’d 100% recommend it.
September 03 · Beatriz HerreraGot the tasting menu and sat at the counter. Very interactive experience and got to talk to a bunch of FOH and BOH staff who all had a lot of knowledge! Snacks were incredible, great start to the meal. All the dishes used incredibly native ingredients to different areas of Mexico! The dishes had so much flavor and were unique. Desserts weren’t the best but overall great experience and would go back for a la carte!
July 06 · Claire ErlandsonAbsolutely LOVED this experience!! We went on a Friday night and are soooo happy we chose this place to celebrate our anniversary! The food was new, exciting, and definitely worth the price if you want to experience a special evening. The dining experience took us about 1.5-2 hrs, we never felt rushed, and the staff was incredibly attentive and responsive to questions throughout. As for the food, it was $125 for the tasting menu and $75 for the drink pairing—we got both. Each dish seemed to champion fresh ingredients that have been utilized in some of the most creative ways I have seen in a while! We will be back!
August 03 · Aveline KreilingThis was an absolutely amazing meal! The restaurant definitely deserves all the accolades it has received. The service was excellent, and most of the menu hit the mark, if not exceeded it. I should note that you don’t actually see the menu in advance (though they do give you a copy at the end), and I loved the surprise factor. The top dishes of the evening for me were a perfectly cooked and succulent mackerel and a wonderfully spiced branzino collar. And unbeknownst to me beforehand as well was that the chef spent time in Shanghai, and several of the dishes had hints of Asian flavors - I definitely detected a hint of the scallion pancakes I’d get when I lived in Shanghai in the tortillas. On top of the incredible food and service, I had a front-row seat at the counter overlooking the open kitchen, and it was impressive to watch all the dishes being prepared. This is one of my new favorite restaurants! I’ll definitely be back!
June 03 · ReedHCorima might be the first fine dining meal where I saw the bill and exclaimed in my mind “wow that’s cheap!” $125 for a 2.5-hour modern Mexican tasting menu consisting of 12 dishes plus 3 petit fours, complete with a front-row seat to a bustling kitchen. Most tasting menu counters are quiet as they cater to a few guests, but the kitchen here was packed full of action as they fulfilled the a la carte orders from the rest of the restaurant.Highlights. I’d happily eat a plate of the sourdough tortilla (reminiscent of a good scallion pancake) with the charred, nutty, and multilayered pipian negro from the cuttlefish tartlet. The branzino melted and melded with the piquant chili glaze. The buche taco was objectively oversalted but was welcome at this point of the menu when our palates started getting fatigued. And that totomoxtle ice cream—wow! The roasted corn husk had a nutty, kinako-like flavor that went so well with the strawberries.Lowlights. The squid ink buñuelo layered creamy on creamy to the point of being a bit much. The croquette was gluey from overworked potatoes. The tonka duck broth tasted thin and bitter.Service was personable and attentive. It felt like both BOH and FOH enjoyed what they were doing.Overall, the flavors met what’s expected of this price point. Of course it’s not as special as a $200-300 menu, but it’s not trying to be. It was a great meal. You’ll get your money’s worth.
