Flip Flop Pancakes Introduce
For New Jersey travelers passing through Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), finding a dedicated spot for a satisfying breakfast or a quick, comforting meal before a flight is a priority. Flip Flop Pancakes, located post-security within the bustling Terminal C, serves this precise need. As a specialized Pancake restaurant and Cafe, this establishment focuses on American restaurant classics, providing a familiar and accessible dining option amidst the hectic pace of air travel.
The concept of Flip Flop Pancakes is rooted in offering traditional breakfast and brunch favorites, particularly its namesake item. While its hours of operation are focused on the morning rush—generally from 5:00 AM to 10:30 AM—it is positioned to be a key starting point for many travelers’ days. The menu, typical of an American cafe, provides a selection of Comfort food designed to offer a quick, filling meal. It’s a popular choice for both "Locals" (airport staff and frequent flyers) and "Tourists" alike, providing an easily recognizable and essential service within the terminal.
It is important for potential New Jersey customers to note that Flip Flop Pancakes is situated within the unique environment of a major airport, where customer service and operational efficiency can sometimes face unique challenges due to high traffic and specialized ordering systems. Prospective diners should manage expectations for the service speed and experience accordingly, focusing on the convenience of having a breakfast-focused option right near the gates.

Its strategic placement allows travelers to grab a meal or coffee without having to venture far from their departure gate.
In line with modern airport requirements, Flip Flop Pancakes ensures a degree of accessibility for all travelers:

- Address: Gates C70-99, Terminal C, 3 Brewster Rd, Newark, NJ 07114
- Phone: (866) 508-3558
While the phone number is provided, direct communication for an in-the-moment order is often less practical in a high-volume airport environment than utilizing the on-site ordering mechanisms or speaking to nearby staff.
### What is Worth Choosing
Flip Flop Pancakes is worth choosing for New Jersey travelers primarily because it fills a specific niche within Newark Airport’s Terminal C: a dedicated, specialized breakfast cafe. In a large airport, the ability to quickly locate a place for pancakes, coffee, and familiar American Comfort food is a significant convenience, especially for early morning flights.
The option for Takeout allows passengers to quickly grab their food and head directly to their gate, an invaluable service when time is short. For those with a longer layover, the availability of Seating for a casual Dine-in experience offers a brief reprieve. The menu is a straightforward choice for families (Good for kids) and individuals seeking recognizable, filling options before a long journey. While customer feedback has historically pointed to inconsistencies in service quality and value—issues often common to high-volume airport settings—the fundamental need for a quick, post-security breakfast option makes Flip Flop Pancakes a necessary and often utilized choice for EWR passengers.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1As others have said, if I could give this place a zero, I would. My 14-year old daughter stood at the "Please Order Here" sign for almost 10 minutes while the worker ignored her. She made eye contact with her a few times but would look away. My 16-year old daughter stood in front of the same sign at the connected Crepery for the same length of time (doesn't have its own Google profile, so I assume its the same restaurant - the same worker from Flip Flop made her crepe). My husband was at Eggy Weggy a few windows down and didn't realize they hadn't been helped until after he got his food. Another customer came up behind the 16-year old, waited a few minutes, then scanned a sign that said "Skip the Line" and ordered. My daughter did the same and ordered her Nutella crepes. The same worker from Flip Flop who had been blatantly ignoring my 14-year old made them and put almost ZERO Nutella on them and 2 halves of a banana UNSLICED. What a freaking joke. Especially for $14.While the 16-year old waited for her food, she tried to help my 14-year old order on the kiosk because at that point, my husband had realized she had not ordered and told them that's how they had to do it. They thought the order went through and waited. After probably another 10 minutes, my husband asked the worker about the order. She said she didn't have one. I checked the credit card app, and sure enough, no transaction, so the order didn't go through. This lovely lady who had watched my daughter stand there for 10 minutes, ignoring her, then made my other daughter a ridiculously insufficient crepe that we spent $14 on, watched my daughter place an order on the kiosk and continued to pretend like she didn't have jack squat to do. So by the time my husband and I realized the order didn't go through and asked her to make the order after a minimum of TWENTY minutes of this lazy woman watching my daughter stand there, she has the NERVE to tell us the menu had just changed over and they were no longer serving breakfast. I looked at my phone. It was 10:30 on the dot. The pancake batter was still sitting out and she wasn't doing anything. Nothing. No other customers were around. She wasn't putting things up. Nothing. So to whoever is paying her paycheck, you are WASTING your money. Who knows how many paying customers she has turned away because she's too dang lazy to lift a finger. If you need a date/time to figure out which staff member it was, today is March 22, 2025, and we were there around 10:10-10:30 a.m.PS. My husband's food and service at Eggy Weggy was excellent. Large food portions. Tasted great.
March 22 · James ParkerIf I could rate this place zero stars, I would. The customer service is abysmal, with staff conversing in their own languages and ignoring customers. The pancakes seem to be made with disdain, and I wouldn't consider returning. Spending $17 USD for three pancakes is completely unjustifiable. Additionally, I've posted about the disrespectful and unmannerly employees, particularly the two ladies who seem disinterested in their work in the picture!
May 11 · Passion FruiitThis is not worth $19.76. The menu display mentioned two pigs in a blanket but only received one. So I ask the manager to get a refund.
June 01 · Dustin DelantarDo NOT come to this location. For $17.00 you would expect a proper stack of pancakes… Not only did we only receive 3 small pancakes, we received 3 paper thin pancakes… for $17.00! To top it off, there was NO line, yet the employee moved at the pace of a large disabled sloth. I could’ve made pancake batter from scratch and finished cooking the whole batch before this woman could lift her spatula. After waiting nearly 20 minutes we started to realize why nobody was going to this breakfast spot… DO NOT make the mistake we made… you have been forewarned!
November 25 · Nicholas BadalatoMy experience is hopefully not too common, but it seemed like the employees didn't care about completing my order, which was just some blueberry pancakes and bacon. It looked like the girl started my order ended her shift and the guy who took over wasn't really prepared. The pancakes came out oily and flat. One had more blue berry than pancake batter. The berries were at least fresh and ripe. I never did get my bacon and dumped half the pancake in the trash.
