★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Hokkaido Baked Cheese Cafe. 315 5th ave Manhattan n.y. Cute Cafe where they offer delicious matcha drinks and delicious taiyaki ( Japanese fish shape pastry filled with delicious creamy light black bean paste) as well as cheese tart, Ube, matcha chocolate chip cookie, hojicha,Sakura orange tart, egg brulee, yuzu tart. Outside seats available. If your palette craving Japanese desserts this place won't disappoint.
August 25 · Epicurean ChichiThought I’d stop by after dinner. I was greeted by a super friendly and patient guy and selected an Ube croissant and original/classic tart. The Ube croissant had a very slippery and light filling and a sweet and savory chocolate shell. The outside is flaky and fragrant, but the inside gives rather strong notes of yeast. The tart, however, is perfection. The shell is like a more crumbly version of a vanilla shortbread cookie, and the custard is like a cross between a non-bake cheesecake and pudding. Next time, I will still get the croissant, but I might just eat the top part.
July 17 · Xiang LiThe Ube croissant never fails to disappoint — it’s absolutely delicious! 🔥However, I decided to try the blueberry square croissant this time, and both my partner and I unfortunately ended up with excruciating migraines. It might sound like a coincidence, but it honestly felt like a sugar overload — probably the most concentrated amount of sugar I’ve ever had in one pastry!
April 10 · Oumeima AshurI ordered the original, ube and matcha, the tarts were ok but the filling flavor is not that pure. Price is reasonable in K-town.
May 29 · Luna NycAs a lover of Japanese pastries and sweets, I was excited to visit this spot in Manhattan. However, it didn't quite live up to my expectations. While the treats looked visually appealing, unfortunately, two out of the three items we tried were a miss.We ordered a pistachio cream-filled croissant with strawberries and a square-shaped pistachio dessert (I can't recall the name). We love pistachio, so we were really hoping for the best. Sadly, the cream in both tasted overwhelmingly artificial – a big letdown. On a positive note, the small Sakura orange cake was quite delicious. It had a lovely balance of flavors and a delightful texture. The ambiance of the place wasn't very inviting. It's more of a grab-and-go setup, with a small counter and two chairs facing the street, and a long, seatless communal table. It's not a place that encourages you to linger. The staff's attitude didn't help either – they weren't particularly friendly or welcoming.
