★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I’ve been to Red Horse several times, both for dinner and brunch, and it never disappoints. Today I tried the Dim Sum Brunch ($55 per person for 10 courses), and honestly, it was one of the best brunch experiences I’ve had in Westchester. Each course kept getting better and better.Highlights:The bacon with scallion pancakes and the chicken and waffles were incredible. And the ice cream at the end, topped with candied ginger? A perfect finish. The only dishes I didn’t love were the last two: shrimp served in a Chinese takeout-style carton and the steak course. The steak in particular was a bit too cold and could’ve been warmer to bring out the flavor.Aside from that, everything else was excellent. The vibe is always great, and the atmosphere is classy but chill. I’ve noticed it’s not as busy as it used to be when it first opened, you can usually walk in without a reservation, which is surprising given the quality. Also want to mention: a few weeks ago I came for dinner and had the dry-aged porterhouse,it was phenomenal!Service is generally attentive, though it can be a little slow at the beginning of the meal. Still, the staff is friendly and professional.Overall: Great food, solid service, and probably one of the most underrated brunch spots in White Plains.
July 13 · Michelle LobatoWe visited David Burke’s Red Horse during Restaurant Month and were excited for the experience. Unfortunately, the evening fell short of expectations. The main dining room was clearly understaffed due to a 75-person group being served at the same time, though our waitress, Jennifer, was exceptional and went above and beyond. The food looked beautiful and tasted just as good. John, the manager, even pitched in to help Jennifer by serving wine. When he opened our bottle, I mentioned that I was in the wine business before retiring. Later, I noticed he decanted a bottle for the table next to us but did not offer to do the same for ours. Given our earlier conversation, I found this dismissive. When I asked to speak with him, I was told he had left for the night and would not return before 8:30 pm. That lack of acknowledgment, along with the missed opportunity to make our experience special, left us feeling undervalued. What could have been a memorable evening was reduced to something below average.
August 09 · Ron MartinsonSuch an incredible meal and the service by Edwin and Jennifer was absolutely superb. Jennifer walked us through the menu making excellent suggestions to find items that would WOW each member of our party. Edwin went above and beyond, ensuring our special day was celebrated perfectly. From the celebratory toast to the delicious tin can cake to end the incredible dinner, it was all perfect. The team is very collaborative and ensure it’s a delicious meal and elevated experience. Don’t skip the bacon or the popovers! The tuna tartare is so good, as are the octopus & scallops, bronzino, and short rib. Enjoy!
June 18 · Taryn DuffyWe Loved, loved The Red Horse! How is it that we’ve never been here before! The food was delicious, balanced and definitely prepared by a deft hand. I love chocolate and the Tiny Dancer was music to my palate. Even the mixed drink, Cuban Missile Crisis, for a wine drinker, was a winner. Watch out, you’ll want another. Our waiter Edwin was on pointe!! Great service without being intrusive. Much appreciated! We’re definitely coming back…with friends. Hmmm, maybe the Wine Dinner on August 14th!
August 02 · denise serraThe food was so good! Everything tasted fresh and was plated beautifully, I especially loved the burrata with prosciutto. The cocktails were really well made and super refreshing. Our server Edwin was amazing and very attentive, kind, and gave us great recommendations. Service like that really makes the experience better. Overall, a great spot for good food, drinks, and atmosphere. I’ll definitely be coming back!
