★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Shinji’s is one of those bars that redefines whatyou think a cocktail can be. Every drink is thoughtfully engineered and full of flavor & story. Every time I’m here I lose track of time and just get lost in the fun of all the liquid nitrogen and incredible hospitality. Exquisite whiskey selection and food pairings too!
August 15 · Joanna LinThis one is now my World Top10Bar.Drinks are excellent-designed and well-executed. Some of them are experimental so I recommend talk to bartender for double check before ordering. Their price surprisingly matches their quality, comparing to those overpriced NY bars.Foods are just food. Tastes not Michelin-star excellent but fairly good.I will return.
June 06 · Enzo GShinji was honestly a letdown. The decor is gorgeous, and the bartending cart they roll around to make your cocktails tableside is fun to watch, but overall not worth the hype or price.Every drink was nearly $30, and while the descriptions sounded super creative, the flavors were just odd. I got the Arroz con Bangkok and it literally tasted like cilantro savory soup. The drinks were super strong in alcohol content, but didn't feel balanced at all.As for the food, it was completely overpriced and underwhelming. The Little Gem Okonomiyaki was one tiny cabbage wedge with bonito flakes and some mayo on top. It was $26 and definitely not what I expected, it wasn't a pancake, didn't taste cooked through, just mostly raw cabbage. The mushroom rice bowl? $30 and SO small, super salty, and nothing special. I wish the menu had more descriptions of the food and drinks so people know what they're ordering. What even was that okonomiyaki? Also, don't go by the prices listed on their website. When we got there, the physical menu had noticeably higher prices.Service was a bit off. They gave us complimentary tea, but the waiter spilled some on the table and didn't pour evenly for everyone. When we mentioned it (since the place is super dark), he seemed kind of annoyed. Then they rushed us off the table after just one hour, I thought we had more time.Besides the cute interior and watching the bartenders do their thing, nothing really stood out. Food was definitely not worth the money at all. I personally wouldn't come back here.
May 18 · Becky ZhangGreat experience! Very friendly staff, had great conversation with both bartenders and the manager. The cocktails are delicious, beautiful, and have lots of flair. Very creative recipes and presentation, and lots of care and quality put into ingredients. Incredible selection of rare Japanese whiskies.
March 30 · Nic GarciaTalk about a memorable night out! Every drink at Shinji’s is infused with a little magic (plus a lottttt of technical skill) Almost every glass is chilled with liquid nitrogen so there is always a whimsical haze hanging in the air that makes the night feel even more magic. The Hot Cold Toddy is an absolute must, it is still a mystery to me how a hot cuppa tea can become an icy refreshing tipple mid sip. Also do NOT sleep on the snacks - Love thr shrimp sando and you can’t go wrong with any of the hand rolls. The staff is so nice and friendly but they are also all cocktail geniuses you can ask any nerdy question!
