While the full menu offers a delicious range of Korean staples, So Kong Dong is celebrated for a few signature items that locals highly recommend. The star of the show is, without a doubt, the Tofu Soup (Soondubu). Customer reviews frequently praise the rich flavor, generous portions, and the soothing, authentic quality of the soups, noting that they are consistently delicious and comforting. Be sure to crack the provided raw egg into the boiling broth for an extra layer of richness.
Beyond the signature soondubu, two other dishes frequently stand out as local favorites:
- Korean BBQ Ribs ($22.95): Often referred to as LA Galbi, these sliced ribs are a perfect accompaniment to the soup. They are lauded for being tender, flavorful, and a great choice for those seeking a protein punch alongside their comforting stew.
- Haemul Pajeon ($15.95) / Seafood Pancake: This crispy, savory pancake packed with seafood and green onions is the perfect starter or side dish to share, providing a satisfying texture contrast to the soft tofu soup.
- Bibimbap / Original Bibibob ($13.95): A classic rice dish topped with beef, vegetables, and a fried egg, this is a healthy and filling option for those who may prefer a mixed rice meal over soup.
- Yukgaejang ($13.95): This spicy beef soup is another excellent choice for those who want a hearty, spicy stew that is a staple of Korean dining.
The entire dining experience is rounded out by the traditional Banchan (small side dishes) that accompany your meal. These complimentary sides, which often include kimchi and other pickled vegetables, are an essential part of Korean dining and enhance the authenticity of every visit.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I recently visited So Kong Dong in Fort Lee and had a good experience. Their tofu soup is absolutely delicious—rich, flavorful, and comforting. I also tried the spicy beef soup, which had just the right amount of heat and paired perfectly with the rice. Both dishes were satisfying and felt like true Korean comfort food. The flavors are authentic, the portions are generous, and the overall dining experience left me wanting to come back again. Definitely a spot worth revisiting if you’re craving hearty Korean soups! If you like my post, please feel free to follow me on rednote ID:559551562 to explore more great places!
September 27 · Qian ZhangAs soon as we walked in we were greeted and sat right away. The service was quick and attentive. The food was very delicious and reasonably priced. It was very nutritious as Korean food usually is. Definitely going to be my go to spot.
July 06 · Giovanna ArmillaGreat spot for soondubu-jigae. Nice friendly staff. Best part is the sides. They bring out brocoli with sesame oil, kimchi, and etc.
June 14 · Issei KohamaGreat food great place with fair price. They offer parking lot in front of their store.
August 05 · Jyun-Syun LiGood place to get a quick bite of authentic Korean food. Tofu is super tender and the soup is very flavorful. You can choose the spicy level, and medium seems to work well for me. The soups come with rice. Tofu soup is boiling hot and definitely take your time to savor it (don’t rush). There is a small free parking lot upfront, although it’s probably hard to find a spot during peak hours.
