The true measure of a Bay Ridge favorite is how well it handles a crowd, and Bagel Supreme seems to navigate the morning rush with practiced ease.
A hallmark of any great local spot is its proximity to community activity, and the fact that Bagel Supreme saw a rush of customers, including many members of New York’s Finest, prior to a major local event like the NYC Marathon, speaks volumes about its role in the neighborhood. It's the kind of place you trust to be open early and ready to handle high demand, offering comforting classics when you need them most. While it maintains a professional tone, the environment is welcoming enough for customers to either eat-in quickly at one of the few available tables or grab their order to go. This perfect balance of quick service and local reliability makes Bagel Supreme a central fixture for those living and working along 5th Avenue in Bay Ridge.

What is Worth Choosing
For any New Yorker seeking an authentic, no-fuss start to their day in Bay Ridge, Bagel Supreme is a dependable choice primarily for its core offerings and reliable service. What makes this local shop truly worth choosing is its ability to nail the essentials. Firstly, the efficiency of the service is a major draw. In a city where time is money, the quick turnaround—with wait times under five minutes even during the morning rush—is invaluable. This makes it an ideal spot for anyone on a tight schedule, from those rushing to the subway to early-shift workers.
Secondly, the classic New York breakfast sandwiches are a definite must-try. Although specific bagel types are not detailed, the mention of the 3 egg whites on a bagel, and the sheer volume of customers lining up for their morning orders, suggests the quality of the main items is high enough to generate intense local loyalty. It is a known truth in the city that if the local police are lining up, the food is good and the service is efficient. The generous sizing, such as the egg white sandwich, offers a substantial and filling meal to power through a busy Brooklyn morning.
The strong value proposition, particularly with the medium-sized coffee, further enhances its appeal as a daily go-to spot. Daily rituals should be affordable and satisfying, and Bagel Supreme seems to deliver on both fronts. While a customer did mention a slight disappointment with a croissant that lacked a "freshly baked" feel, the true focus and strength of a New York shop like this is almost always the bagel itself, its variety of schmears, and the expertly made breakfast sandwiches. Any first-time visitor or returning local should prioritize one of the classic bagel sandwiches or a simple bagel with a schmear to experience the heart of this Bay Ridge institution.
In conclusion, Bagel Supreme is an essential Brooklyn fixture. Its longevity is testament to its dependable quality, efficient service, and deep connection to the Bay Ridge community. It represents the quintessential, authentic neighborhood bagel shop: small, clean, perpetually busy, and a vital source of morning fuel for New Yorkers in the area. While minor issues like menu pricing discrepancies may occur during heavy volume, the consistent, quick delivery of a good New York breakfast is what keeps the line moving and the locals coming back every day.

Bagel Supreme Reviews
Stopped in early morning about a quarter after seven in the morning on a Thursday, walked in and it was very clean but nothing spectacular inside. It’s a small place with two tables, for seating of four at each. You can sit down and wait for your order or you can have a seat and eat. Wait time was under five minutes for them to take my order and another five minutes or so for it to be completed. I was going to order a plain bagel but I noticed they had a tray of croissants off to the side, so I ordered one lighty toasted and lighty buttered. I was a tad disappointed because they appeared freshly baked but when I tried it, I didn’t get that freshness feeling. To me it tasted just like a regular croissant that you can buy that already came prepackaged. Overall the service was decent, so I’d give it a try with something different
August 29 · Ray CampbellGot here 5:50 am to attend the pre bike ride before NYC Marathon start. Shop opened early and line had already formed with many New York’s Finest in blue. The wait was only 5 minutes, line moved quickly.I ordered the 3 egg whites on a bagel and was charged $5. I pointed out to the cashier that the menu overhead states $4.25. She said it’s the tax. Looking at the receipt, there was a discrepancy. Not wanting to hold up the line and fuss over 75 cents, I moved aside. Either she is incorrect or the system hasn’t been updated to reflect the new higher price.Coffee was a good deal for a medium size at $2. Also able to sit inside away from the cold autumn air. Place does look quite busy, not sure if the marathon played a role in this or food is just good. I do hope they rectify the price issue so other customers don’t make a fuss…
November 06 · Frugal CyclistLetting you know in advance, it’ll take some time for your order because there’s only 2-3 people FOH. That being said; new favorite breakfast spot. Toasted Everything w/ Lox spread, onion, tomato & avocado for $8.49 w/ tax! AND they’ll even throw in a free bag of chips.
September 07 · Anthony PolnarevOver eazy eggs , you can sometimes say it twice and come back or exchange it or call and ask why you get something different again and stupid sorry next time
July 04 · Magdalena StelmachGreat little spot for a quick and yummy breakfast. Staff is always friendly and orders come out in a timely manner. My favorite is a toasted sesame bagel with lox spread but we've also tried their breakfast sandwiches and breakfast burritos and been happy with what we got. It's my go to bagel spot in Bay Ridge.
