More than just a simple food stand, this operation has carved out a niche for itself as a go-to purveyor of delicious and affordable Mexican-style comfort food, making it a crucial stop for commuters, local residents, and visitors alike.
While the name prominently features "Empanadas," a staple of many Latin American cuisines, this popular food truck is classified as a Mexican restaurant and offers a rich menu that extends well beyond its namesake, including a fantastic array of freshly prepared tacos and other plates. It’s the perfect blend of fast-casual dining and authentic street eats, providing a warm, casual, and trendy atmosphere—even on the move. For years, Cesar's has been a consistent source of well-seasoned, quality food, quickly becoming a staple in the Fort Greene neighborhood and an essential part of the Brooklyn culinary landscape.
Whether you are grabbing a quick lunch, needing a speedy dinner after a long day, or looking for a comforting, small plate snack, Cesar's Empanadas Truck provides a quick and flavorful answer to the perpetual New York question: "What's for dinner?" It is especially popular for solo diners who appreciate the swift service, as well as groups gathering for an easy, accessible meal. The focus here is on delivering great quality and ample portions for the price, ensuring a satisfying experience that keeps New Yorkers coming back for more. The positive buzz around the quality and portions is a common thread among long-time patrons, cementing its reputation as a reliable spot.
One of the most appealing aspects of Cesar's Empanadas Truck is its prime location, which makes it exceptionally accessible to anyone traveling through one of Brooklyn’s major transportation hubs. The truck is situated at:

This address places the food truck right near the bustling nexus of the Atlantic Terminal/Barclays Center area. It's a key spot for those utilizing the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) and the myriad of subway lines that converge at Atlantic Avenue–Barclays Center. The convenience factor for commuters cannot be overstated—it’s often the perfect spot to grab a bite immediately upon exiting or before entering the transit system.
For drivers in the area, paid street parking is available, though in this high-traffic location, it may be subject to typical NYC street parking challenges. Given its proximity to one of the city's largest transit centers, accessing the truck via public transportation is highly recommended and part of the quintessential New York street food experience. September 07 · Joseph MorrisThe food is mediocre. The empanadas are barely filled, mostly air. Won’t be coming back. Was also annoyed because I bought a Jarrito and had no idea that it needed to be opened with a bottle opener, so couldn’t drink it until I got home. lol
August 15 · Melissa BarraganI ordered a burrito and an empanada, the burrito transported me back to my days in LA surviving off of burrito trucks . The empanada was up there with the best I've ever had. The crust was sturdy but proved fluffy, when bitten into. The filling was delicious, even if it wasn't copious (what do you expect in this economy). If I had had ordered a bottle of Jarritos, I would have known when I ordered it that it's not a twist off.
September 05 · Ian FarragherI went there today after a LONG day I ordered the birria and needed confirmation if they added cheese to make it quesobirria and the lady kept explaining to me that the birria was 3 tacos and it came with consome which is the birria sauce. She finally told me it comes with cheese. So I ordered the birria with the understanding there were 3 tacos, with cheese along with the consome. When I got home I went to eat my tacos and there was no consome after her continual insistence that it came with this sauce. Unfortunately this made the tacos taste dry and it was unsatisfying. On top of that it was overly overpriced. I do not think it is a place to purchase feel good food at a reasonable price.
August 18 · Mikaela HenryConvenient spot for me for a snack. Ordered a ground beef and a chicken empanada. Was served a warm, crispy shell with well seasoned filling. Fast and friendly service and had no problems paying cash. Paying with card looks a little inconvenient for them. Would go back again and recommend for a quick, tasty snack.
