La Mela Introduce
In a city as bustling and ever-changing as New York, finding a restaurant that feels like a warm embrace from a friend is a true treasure. La Mela, a staple of Mulberry Street in the heart of Little Italy, is one such place. It’s an Italian restaurant that has been serving generations of families and friends since 1985, offering a dining experience that is both classic and comforting. Unlike the trendy, minimalist eateries that come and go, La Mela embodies a timeless, homey atmosphere that makes every visitor feel like a welcomed guest. The focus here is on generous, family-style portions of traditional Italian-American cuisine, a style of eating that encourages sharing, conversation, and a sense of togetherness. La Mela is more than just a place to eat; it's a place to create memories, making it a definitive destination for anyone looking for an authentic and heartfelt dining experience in New York City. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I came to this restaurant with my family. The food was so good and the staff were super friendly! The atmosphere was so homey and felt like I was having dinner at a friends house. This place definitely made my Little Italy experience for me! Would come here again if I was in town and will also recommend to anyone I know coming here!
September 03 · Sarah TylerVisited this charming little place on recommendation from a friend. Very good service, easy to get a table, and super tasty food with fresh ingredients. The owner came around to check on me and others, and was highly attentive to my needs and making sure I had what I wanted. I will definitely be returning!
August 03 · David CarvajalA nice, intimate Italian restaurant serving delicious pasta. They have a private dining area in the rear for larger parties. The service is good, and the staff is very attentive to your needs.
September 07 · Mark LoGiuratoWe stopped by on a whim while on vacation in new york and was greeted by John. He said his family has the best food in town and he wasn't wrong. The food was fantastic. You could taste every ingredient that went into the preparation of the food. And the lunch special prices were fantastic. We had the chicken Francais and the chicken parmesan and both were excellent. Will come back to eat here when we're in town again!!
August 16 · Sabrina KhanI had a great Aperol Spritz and the veal tortellini in Alfredo sauce which I chose over the Vodka sauce. We also had spaghetti carbonara, mushroom ravioli and they were 5 stars… my husband had spaghetti with meatballs and he complaint about the pasta quality, the watery red sauce and the tasteless meatballs…Service was greatAmbiance… there is room for improvement
