★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1My daughter and I came here for afternoon tea on a Sunday. There were 4 parties ahead of us and we were told that the wait would be around half an hour. We were seated within 10 minutes! We ordered the tea for 2 and it was quite decent. The grapes were of a different variety than the usual ones we see. They were also decked out with glitter. In my experience, pretty stuff generally tend to not taste very good. Boy, was I wrong. These were the best teeny grapes we've ever had in our lives! I would go back there just for those grapes.Service: Very slow paced, but we were in no rush. (The tea set took 30+ minutes to arrive)Atmosphere: Okay, I guess. Nothing noteworthy. Lots of people.Price: I'd say $66 for 2 people is a fantastic price. We didn't even finish everything and got to pack the cheesecake and 2 macarons to go.Room for improvement: Once the tea set came out, the first thing my daughter said was "the scones are cold". We "tea" a lot, so we know that warmed up scones would make a huge difference.
September 02 · Fala LiThe food was delicious and the portions were huge! We had the carrot ginger soup, which was fantastic. The burger had three patties on it, so bigger than we expected. The onion rings and sauce were yum. The opened-faced sandwich with country ham, gruyere, and an egg on what tasted like French toast was a great mix of sweet and salty. Too much food for two adult women for sure. The service was spotty at best. The servers just plopped the food down and left. We had to take our check up to the register ourselves to check out. If you have time, this place is enjoyable, but if not, you will be disappointed.
March 16 · Amy DunleaWe love to go for lunch here before seeing an exhibition. The location is lovely, sitting in the large space. Unfortunatley staff is very friendly but not well trained. The food is ok, definitely not exiting. My turkey salad had so few turkey meat cubes, I had to look for them. My husband's soup looked uninspired. When we asked for bread, we got each two thin sliced of a very sad looking brioche like bread. Thinking of dessert, we had a look at their counter. Also more sad than tempting. All dishes are not what you expect. Why make it complicated, when a straight forward sandwich would do? The pastry: Food wrap for the cookies doesn't help.
August 01 · HHMGreat service ! I love that they had such a cute and affordable afternoon tea available. They also had a guitar player so the whole thing was a a great pleasant experience
August 31 · Neha LuthraThis review is for afternoon tea at the Morgan Cafe and not for the main dining room in the house which requires separate reservations to access.Had afternoon tea for two here yesterday (9/6/24) and wanted to get my thoughts down while they are fresh. The location is a large atrium that is not very noisy and great for conversation without a booming echo. Staff was attentive and it never got too crowded during my time here on a late Friday afternoon.Food presentation was good (see photos) with an assortment of sweet and savory treats. Side note, if you run out of clotted cream (which was very good), a refill is $2!I found the scones a bit dense but others may like that.I didn't think I would get full but I did and had a box for takeaway for the leftovers.Decent selections of teas (in bags and not loose) and they will refill the pot with hot water as many times as requested.Overall I enjoyed the experience and the price for tea for two ($54 as of Sept, 2024) was very reasonable. If you come on a Friday afternoon, try to stay until 5PM when Museum admission is free so that you can walk off all the food afterwards!
