Polpettina Introduce
Polpettina, which fittingly means “little meatball” in Italian, is far more than just a quaint name; it’s a long-standing Eastchester fixture that has earned its place as a cornerstone of Westchester’s casual dining scene. Since opening its doors in 2011, Polpettina has cultivated a reputation for delivering high-quality, creatively executed Italian-American comfort food in a setting that feels just like home. It’s the kind of neighborhood favorite where the ambiance is cozy, the service is efficient, and the menu is consistently surprising and satisfying.
The restaurant successfully bridges the gap between a classic pizzeria and a modern Italian kitchen. While it’s certainly celebrated for its diverse and excellent pizza, its full menu features much more, from namesake meatballs to elevated small plates and robust entrees. The atmosphere is casual yet stylish, featuring rustic touches like reclaimed wood, brick walls, and elegant lighting, making it an ideal spot for anything from a casual midweek dinner with the family to a fun Friday night gathering with friends. Polpettina prides itself on its "we-do-things-the-right-way attitude," utilizing high-quality, locally sourced ingredients to infuse classic dishes with fresh, modern twists. This commitment to quality and creativity is why Polpettina has become a truly essential destination for residents across the New York region looking for fantastic, unfussy Italian fare.
Polpettina is particularly popular for its dedication to specialty dishes and exciting menu additions. While the core menu of pizzas, pastas, and meatballs remains an anchor, the rotating specials board is where the culinary imagination truly takes flight. Customers frequently find unexpected, gourmet options that elevate the experience far beyond a typical pizzeria, such as paper-thin, honey-drizzled eggplant chips, inventive pasta preparations, or a clam pie with delicate boquerones. This element of surprise keeps the dining experience fresh and exciting, inviting locals to visit again and again just to see what new culinary creations await. The Eastchester location is often referred to as "the mothership," the place where the successful journey of Polpettina began, cementing its legacy as a beloved and high-quality local institution.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I had a great experience at Polpettina! The pizzas were excellent—crispy crust, fresh ingredients, and full of flavor. I also tried the steak sandwich special, which was a standout. The meat was tender and perfectly seasoned, served on fresh bread with just the right balance of toppings.Another highlight is their Wednesday wine promotion—definitely worth checking out if you’re looking for a midweek treat. It’s a great way to enjoy quality wine at a very attractive price.Overall, a solid spot with great food, good vibes, and thoughtful specials that keep you coming back.
June 06 · Andres WoolcottCame here on a Saturday. It’s a meticulously designed Italian restaurant with charming vintage touches—the rustic bronze tin ceiling tiles, exposed brick walls, and elegant pendant lighting all add to a warm, stylish atmosphere. That said, the food was just average and felt a bit overpriced for what we got (around $100 for one appetizer, one salad, and one pizza). To be fair, we might’ve just ordered the wrong things. We started with the special garlic “not,” a large, knotted bread served golden and blistered, dusted with parmesan and flecks of thyme. It looked impressive, but it was a little too oily for our taste. The farmhouse salad was colorful, with lots of components—chicory greens, pickled red onions, roquefort blue cheese, cucumber, tomato confit—but the flavors didn’t quite come together. You end up tasting each element separately, mostly the bitterness and salt. The upside-down Sicilian pizza was a thick, square pie with a rich tomato sauce layered over mozzarella. It wasn’t bad, but we just personally prefer the lighter, crispier Neapolitan style.Still, this could be a great spot for a casual Friday night hang with friends or family. Just make sure to find the dishes that really shine on the menu.
March 22 · Yunong ShiTad disappointed in our first visit. Eggplant chips were way too salty and the pizza seemed to lack flavor (which was surprising due to the amount of cheese and pepperoni). It seems they are more known for their thin pizzas so we might need to circle back to try again.
July 07 · Anthony MejiaI went to Polpettina for lunch and shared a honey butter salad (watercress and butter lettuce) and a classic pizza. The salad was fresh and delicious, the pizza terrific with a thin crispy crust and a great balance between the cheese and sauce. Notable is that the sauce is on top of the cheese. I think this is one of the better pizzas in Westchester!
June 26 · Bruce RosnerRecently my kids got a pie and my son took home leftover vodka and pepperoni squares I was there yesterday and ordered a vodka slice. Nice that they cut it into 2 triangles didn't taste as good as the slice reheated last month I tried. Slice could be more hot and it just tasted like it sat too long nice freshly made like the pie they ordered last time. On the other hand meatballs were good but also not as hot as I would like. But the winner for a girl that doesn't like eggplant or fried food that eggplant with hot honey was amazing and the brussel sprouts were very good too I came all the way from Manhattan
