Yoon Haeundae Galbi Introduce
For New Yorkers who love Korean cuisine, the search for an authentic and upscale Korean barbecue experience often leads to Yoon Haeundae Galbi. This isn't your average KBBQ joint; it's a sophisticated establishment that pays homage to a rich family legacy. Founded by Bobby Yoon, this restaurant is an offshoot of his grandfather's renowned establishment, Haeundae Somunnan Amso Galbijip, which has been a local favorite in Busan, South Korea, since 1964. Yoon Haeundae Galbi brings those storied traditions and flavors to the heart of New York City, blending them with a modern, high-end sensibility.
The restaurant’s concept is to provide a "modern yet traditional" dining experience, and it succeeds in creating a refined atmosphere that is both cozy and upscale. The menu is a tribute to its Busan roots, specializing in "galbi," or short ribs, with a unique tenderizing technique passed down through generations. Beyond the signature barbecue, the menu offers a curated selection of authentic Korean dishes, from savory pancakes to comforting stews and expertly prepared bibimbap. The quality of the ingredients is paramount, from the top-tier meats to the handcrafted sauces. This dedication to excellence, combined with a sleek, multi-level setting and attentive service, makes Yoon Haeundae Galbi a standout destination in a city filled with culinary options. It's a place where you can celebrate, impress, and truly indulge in a taste of Korean tradition.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1It was a bit disappointing, which was a shame because I really wanted to like it. We ordered the full set for two, including kimchi stew and a potato pancake. With the side dishes, every dish was unfortunately quite mediocre, and the BBQ was a bit tough. The highlight was definitely the servers—their service was fantastic. The ambiance was also nice, but overall, I don’t think I’ll be going back anytime soon.
September 12 · Gabbie KimThis place was highly recommended to me since I love Korean barbecue. The wait was not too long since someone I know has direct connection with the owner. The ambiance is modern and high end with two levels of seating. The service they provided was one of the best I have ever been served and the food and quality was out of this world. All the meats and cuts they offer is top of the line and carefully maintained. The drinks they make were very good and worth it. Yes this place can be pricey, but I was taught if the food is great the price don’t matter. I highly recommend this place for all the Korean barbecue fanatics and to anyone looking for great food and time. I definitely will be back since I’m addicted already!
May 04 · AlzilaThis was a good korean bbq experience. Loved the dry aged short rib. The rest of the meat was good, but nothing out of the ordinary. Jap che was pretty good! Service was nice and attentive and we had a great time as a table of 8. Good korean bbq, and ok-ish price for quality of food
May 14 · Bianca RitortoHad a great experience at this Korean BBQ spot. The beef quality was excellent—well-marbled and flavorful, and everything was cooked just right. Our server was attentive and helpful, offering solid recommendations that really made the meal better. She even handed me a tide pen when i dropped my chopsticks on my pants! They focus exclusively on beef for the BBQ, so there’s no pork selection, which is something to keep in mind. It’s a great place for groups, though dining time is limited—1.5 hours for smaller parties (1–3 people) and 2 hours for groups of 4 or more.Despite the time limit, the service is efficient, and the overall vibe is welcoming. Definitely one of the best Korean BBQ spots I’ve been to in Manhattan.
April 17 · Marie UI ate here recently for the first time for lunch with a business colleague and we had so much fun. The food is yummy. Some of the best Korean BBQ I have had in NYC. The dishes were well done and the beef was melt in your mouth soft and so juicy and tender. I don’t know all the dishes we tried but I highly recommend and want to go back soon for dinner soon.
