In a city renowned for its diverse and vibrant culinary scene, a handful of restaurants manage to stand out not just for their food, but for the entire experience they offer. HOWOO, a premier Korean barbecue restaurant located in the heart of New York City, is one such place. It takes the beloved tradition of K-BBQ and elevates it to an art form, focusing on an uncompromising commitment to quality. This is not your typical, bustling K-Town spot; it is a trendy, upscale destination designed to impress and delight. With a sleek, glossy space and a focus on premium beef, HOWOO redefines what it means to go out for Korean barbecue. It’s the kind of place you choose when you want to celebrate a special occasion, host a client, or simply treat yourself to an unforgettable meal.
The atmosphere at HOWOO is immediately striking. With its high ceilings and chic decor, it feels more like a cinematic setting than a traditional restaurant. This sophisticated environment is the perfect backdrop for a meal that is both a culinary journey and a social event. Whether you're gathering with a group of friends or hosting a business dinner, the space is designed to be comfortable and accommodating. The restaurant is a destination for those who appreciate the finer things in life, from the expertly cut meat to the beautifully paired drinks. It offers a seamless, attentive, and never-rushed dining experience, a true luxury in the fast-paced life of New York City.
### Location and Accessibility
HOWOO is strategically located at 7 E 31st St, New York, NY 10016. This address places it within the vibrant NoMad (North of Madison Square Park) neighborhood, a bustling hub known for its trendy restaurants, luxury hotels, and a dynamic mix of commercial and residential spaces. The central location makes it a convenient dining choice for people from all over the city. Public transportation is readily available, with multiple subway lines within easy walking distance. The 6 train at 33rd Street, as well as the N, Q, R, W, B, D, F, and M trains at Herald Square, provide extensive access to the area, ensuring that a trip to HOWOO is never a hassle.
While a specific parking amenity is not listed, the restaurant's location in a high-density urban area means that on-street parking is typically limited and paid, and drivers should anticipate using one of the many nearby public parking garages. The location is, however, highly walkable and well-integrated into the fabric of the neighborhood, making it an ideal destination for an evening stroll before or after your dinner. The area is filled with other establishments, providing opportunities for drinks or dessert before or after your main course.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Had an unforgettable birthday dinner at Howoo. I made the reservation the night beforewith a hostess named Eloi, who was so accommodating. The day of, walking in felt like stepping onto a movie set. The hostess, Catherine, greeted me with a warm happy birthday and led me and my girlfriends to our table. We ordered the Elite Combo along with an à la carte aged ribeye. Every server was incredibly kind and knowledgeable, explaining each and every banchan with genuine enthusiasm. We started with the beef tartare, which paired perfectly with the crispy seaweed—shipped directly from Korea! Our griller, Scott, cooked everything to a perfect medium-rare, just the way we like it. The A5 Miyazaki Wagyu and filet mignon literally melted in our mouths. Daniel, the sommelier, paired a beautiful red wine with our meal and poured me a lovely glass of champagne to celebrate. The service flowed effortlessly from start to finish—seamless, attentive, and never rushed.A huge thank you to the manager, servers, grillers, and hostess team for making this the best birthday ever. And special thanks again to the hostesses for helping me secure a last-minute reservation!
July 31 · IvesWent there on Sunday night. The space looks really big, high ceiling which is perfect for a BBQ restaurant. We ordered the prime package for 4, a reasonable price for the amount of food we got. They started us with side dish before the BBQ and then cold noodles. The side dishes are unique and delicious, and the beef have a very good quality, and flavorful.
July 28 · Nini JThis Korean barbecue restaurant boasts an upscale exterior and interior, equipped with top-of-the-line grills and griddles. The meat quality is decent, the side dishes and other offerings are exceptionally delicious, and the service is at a Michelin three-star level.I would definitely love to come back here for a group gathering.
August 14 · Eui Sun ChungWe got the Elite Package (Grand - for six). Food was very delicious and service was nice. My favorite part was the atmosphere - it was so spacious and well air conditioned. I love the way the grill is set up. It’s built so that the smoke from the food gets sucked in on the side of the grill, so you don’t have to worry about your clothes smelling afterwards.I wasn’t the biggest fan of the service. My waitress was at our table the entire meal, grilling and serving us. So there was absolutely no privacy.Given the cost, I was also shocked that rice or soup didn’t come with the meal.Overall, the experience was good. But at its price point, it could’ve been much better. In my opinion, Cote is far more worth it.
July 07 · ChloeWe visited this restaurant twice during our trip to New York City, and my kids highly recommended it as the best dining experience they had during their stay. The meat quality was exceptional, and the service was attentive. The side dishes were authentic Korean flavors, which added to the overall dining experience.*recommend menu: marinated galbi
