Swoony's Introduce
If you're looking for a comfortable, stylish, and genuinely delicious American dining experience in Brooklyn, look no further than Swoony's. Nestled in the charming Columbia Street Waterfront District, Swoony's has quickly become a beloved neighborhood gem, carving out a unique identity while maintaining the high standards of its sister restaurant, the popular Carroll Gardens Italian spot, Cafe Spaghetti.
Swoony's is not about reinventing the wheel; it’s about perfecting the classics. Chef and owner Salvatore Lamboglia brings his experience and discerning palate to create an elevated take on the American bistro, focusing on classic proteins, hearty sides, and bar fare. This establishment is a reflection of the food Lamboglia himself enjoys when he's not cooking Italian, blending steakhouse staples, fresh seafood, and soulful comfort food into one cohesive and inviting menu. The atmosphere is designed to be cozy and intimate, yet lively and trendy, making it the perfect destination for any occasion, from a casual weeknight dinner to a celebratory night out. With its warm tones, mahogany bar, and thoughtfully curated antique decor—including the preservation of the original tin ceiling—Swoony's feels both fresh and rooted in Brooklyn history. It's a place where you can relax, grab a serious cocktail, and enjoy an expertly prepared meal in a truly welcoming setting.
Swoony's is conveniently located in one of Brooklyn's most appealing waterfront neighborhoods, the Columbia Street Waterfront District. The area, known for its mix of residential charm and local businesses, provides a great backdrop for this standout eatery.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Loved sitting outside with our dog on a summer evening and feasting on their creamy lobster orzo with big chunks of lobster, their Greek salad with toasted pita which actually is the best Greek salad I’ve had (our waiter Misha was right), and the decadent two-patty burger, oozing with a little too much thousand-island sauce, but it was still great. I think I like Swoony’s more than their sister restaurant Cafe Spaghetti, believe it or not! Every dish is a tad unique.5 stars!!!
August 14 · Bonnie GleicherI came here for dinner with my husband, we really enjoyed the place, the atmosphere the hospitality the food and drink were so good. I took just a few pics I wish I had taken more, everything was plated so lovely and tasted so good.We really had a great time speaking to the bartender while we sat and ate at the bar. Gianna the manger and the girl at the front were amazingly friendly and welcoming. Our first time here and definitely not our last.
June 09 · Crissel MoralesPerfect anytime spot. Iceberg lettuce wedge right on! Brussel Sprouts a must have. Short Rib is a killer, Mussels and Mousse. Will definitely be back.
September 10 · Jennifer MaraAte at Swoony’s with my husband for Valentine’s Day and we were blown away. The place is top notch. From the atmosphere to the food to the staff. It’s a classy joint. The burger is phenomenal, easily the best we’ve ever eaten. The tuna crudo, the kale salad, the lobster orzo and the French toast dessert were all stellar too. We cannot wait to come back!
February 14 · Madeline NashThis place is astoundingly good from top to bottom. The hostess Carla was amazing. Our server was next level. The clams casino is one of the best dishes I’ve had in my twenty years in New York hands down. Don’t sleep on the prawns or the lobster orzo. My only complaint possible is the portions are a little small but GOD DANG are they delicious. The burger is very tasty but maybe not worth the price but everything else is truly unfathomably scrumptious. Been here twice now. Plan on being back as much as my wallet can handle it.
