The menu is designed for sharing and getting delightfully messy, where guests don "bibs up" and dive hands-first into bags of fresh seafood shaken in a signature blend of buttery, garlicky, and spicy Cajun sauces. It’s perfect for a lively family dinner, a fun date night, or an energetic celebration with friends.
For those who crave variety and value, the restaurant is famous for its All You Can Eat special, available on certain days with different pricing for a Happy Hour slot and a Dinner slot, making a feast accessible for different budgets. The ability to customize the heat level and sauce ensures a personalized, memorable meal.
An Exceptional Bar and Social Scene: Unlike many casual crab houses, Shaking Crab boasts a strong bar program, making it an excellent gathering spot. The combination of a Great beer selection, Great cocktails (like the potent and delicious special $5 Lemon Drop mentioned by one reviewer), and a lively atmosphere with Live music and Sports on television makes it a premier spot for social gatherings, late-night bites, and general entertainment.
Commitment to Community and Comfort: Choosing a local, independently owned business that identifies as Black-owned and women-owned is a draw for many socially conscious patrons. Furthermore, with options like a Bottomless Brunch (as hinted at by one customer) and a robust menu of comfort food and small plates, the restaurant offers an atmosphere of comfort and fun for both individuals ("Solo dining" is popular) and large "Groups." ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1While the music was a lil loud the Seafood was Fresh. Everything tried in my dinner party of 5 was delicious, except the Fried Calamari (small rings, over fried)The Happy Hour All-U-Can-Eat is a great bargin at $45per person, and Milk was a very attentive waitstaff person so the mandatory 18% tip was not a problem for any of us.The Special Drink of the day was a $5 Lemon Drop, potent and DeliciousI am glad we where there late afternoon (3:30) B4 the louder music and Hookah smoking.I am sure I will be back, maybe try the Bottomless Brunch next time.
September 21 · HAYNES MNThe food was great, had the deep ocean seafood boil, medium hot barlic sauce! So tasty. Also the Cajun fries were very flavorful. I had a pina coladi, consistency was perfect. Music was good - Caribbean vibes. Overall we enjoyed ourselves!!
August 31 · Nathalie WijerathnaCame here with my friend today and the food was great but the service was definitely not the best. For one, there’s one waitress who seems miserable with her job & had a complete attitude when my friend asked for new gloves. Second, the rum punch was decent for $5 but the star of the show was definitely the seasoning. The music was nice too but extremely loud, it reminded me of a lounge in Dyckman. If that’s not your vibe, I would definitely say to not visit. Lastly, $23 as a service fee for two people was way too much. Just keep in mind that tip + tax is already included but other than that, it was a decent experience.
August 05 · CristinaI celebrated my birthday🥳🎂 here yesterday 8/8 and had a blast! The food was awesome. My waitress was phenomenal and service was on point. I highly recommend this place. 😊
August 10 · Kai Wells (Kandi kisses)The atmosphere was pretty good, people having fun, DJ good music, I came to order takeout and took quite a while to be able to put my order in. They had 1 lady doing tables and taking to go orders inside and outside? This was my first time so I definitely was a bit confused. Anyway my food was not how my friend described. I ordered barlic flavor. It had a taste of lemon, some fresh garlic, watery butter and cheese on top??? Idk what I ate. I assumed it was how it comes, sent my friend a picture and she said what the hell is that.I drove all the way from Staten island and I must say I am disappointed and sad city island was closing.
