Best noodles I have had in a while! The options were great and very customizable to your liking. The dumplings were delicious. I was out of state and hope to come back again soon. Might make the trip just to eat here. There was a little bit of a wait as it is very small and very busy but very well worth the wait! - Posie Juarez

What is Worth Choosing

Choosing Maxi's Noodle is choosing an authentic, high-quality culinary experience that is increasingly rare in the global food landscape. What makes this Chinese restaurant definitively worth choosing for any New Yorker is its masterful preservation of the Hong Kong wonton noodle tradition.

If you are a connoisseur of texture and subtle flavor, this is your destination. The broth—cooked with pork bones and dried seafood—is not heavy but light, clean, and perfectly layered, designed to complement, not mask, the noodles. The duck egg noodles provide that signature springy bite—or 'Q' texture—that is the hallmark of authentic Hong Kong noodles. Most importantly, the wontons are a commitment to tradition: plump, generously filled with whole shrimp, and wrapped in thin, non-gummy skins, contrasting with the heartier pork and vegetable dumplings also available.

Beyond the main dish, Maxi's Noodle offers the exceptional advantage of being a living link to Cantonese food heritage. The fact that you can buy the raw ingredients like the wontons and fresh noodles to take home, along with their essential chili oil, shows a confidence and dedication to quality that extends beyond the restaurant walls. This allows local customers to bring a piece of that authentic Hong Kong street food experience into their own New York kitchen.

The overall atmosphere is casual and welcoming, and the service is highly praised, even with a small wait—a common sign of a truly worthwhile and popular New York establishment. From the classic Hong Kong Style Milk Tea to the flavorful Three Toppings Lo Mein, every item reflects a commitment to quality and tradition. Maxi's Noodle is an essential piece of the Flushing food puzzle, delivering genuine Cantonese comfort food that is simply the best noodles many have had in a long time.
